3D WALL HANGINGS and SCULPTURES
I have experimented with three dimensional shapes. Some of the wall hangings are a combination of an abstract painting with an organic 3D form. Others are more sculptural - there is no little colouration, just the form. Then there are free-standing sculptures. I use jesmonite as a modelling material that I paste over a form. I love the textures and colouration that I can achieve with jesmonite.
WALL HANGING no 1 - Deep rooted trust
An emotion that conjures up solidity, belief and longevity.
WALL HANGING no 2 - Beneath our feet
The stairwell in this large house demanded a very tall piece to lead the eye up the wall to a high ceiling. The tall proportion and colours convey the depth of the rich soils and the deep mineral mining in Africa and how it formed the embryo of nations.

SCULPTURE no 1 - The shore
The different life forms that are found among the rocks and below the surface of the sea are the inspiration for this piece. An organic shape that shimmers in the light.
